This page brings together every service Barcelona Expat offers to foreigners in Barcelona, with the fee for each one. Our aim is a transparent price list you can read before contacting us: what each procedure costs, what the standard and premium options mean, and where to read the detail of each service before deciding.

All the fees below are for our assistance with the procedure. Where a service depends on a third party — an insurance policy, an official appointment or a public administration — that is stated in the description of the service itself.

Standard and premium: what changes

Two of our most requested procedures, the NIE and the empadronamiento, come in two versions. The standard service covers the preparation and submission of all the necessary documentation, and in the case of the NIE it also includes obtaining the appointment, which in Barcelona is often the hardest part of the procedure. The premium service adds accompaniment to the official appointment, so that someone is physically with you when it is completed. Clients who do not speak Spanish, or who cannot afford a failed appointment because of a deadline, usually choose the premium option.

Residency and paperwork services

• NIE in Barcelona — standard 90 € / premium 150 €. The Foreigner Identification Number, needed to live, work, buy, or carry out legal and financial activity in Spain. The standard option includes preparation and submission of the documentation and obtaining the appointment for you, which is where most people get stuck; the premium option adds accompaniment on the day.
• Empadronamiento in Barcelona — standard 60 € / premium 150 €. Registration at the town hall, a mandatory step for residents and a requirement for many other procedures. Standard covers document preparation and guidance; premium adds in-person support at the appointment.
• Residency applications — 300 €. Full guidance through the residence permit process, preparation of the documentation and submission of the application.
• Spanish nationality — 300 €. Document review, preparation of the application and follow-up of the file.
• Spanish nationality after arraigo familiar — 400 €. The nationality file of someone who already holds residence through arraigo familiar. It is a different exercise from a standard application: what decides it is the permit history and which residence period actually applies, not the family link that granted the residence. Available in Barcelona.
• Social security number — 80 €. Help obtaining the Spanish social security number, normally needed before starting work or registering as self-employed.
• Opening a bank account — 70 €. Support in preparing the account opening as a foreigner, including which documents the bank is likely to check and whether you will be treated as resident or non-resident.
• Health insurance — from 40 € per month. Private health cover for foreigners, including the policies commonly required for residence applications. The monthly price depends on the policy chosen.
• Master and university enrolment — 95 €. Assistance with enrolment at a Spanish university or master programme, including the paperwork international students have to prepare.
• Income tax for foreigners — 115 €. Resident tax returns, non-resident filings such as Modelo 210, tax residency review and support with the Agencia Tributaria.

Traffic and vehicle services

• Vehicle registration in Spain — 95 €. Registering a car with Spanish plates, whether it came with you from another country or was bought abroad.
• Scooter registration — 70 €. DGT registration of scooters and personal mobility vehicles, including the certificate and insurance side of the procedure.
• Driving licence exchange — 95 €. Exchanging a foreign driving licence for the Spanish one, for the countries where that exchange is possible.
• Vehicle transfer — 70 €. Change of ownership of a vehicle already registered in Spain, for buyer or seller.
• Car import and registration — 90 €. Importing a vehicle into Spain and taking it through to Spanish plates.

How we work

Every service starts the same way: you tell us your situation and we review whether the route you have in mind is the one that actually applies. That review matters more than it sounds. A large part of the delays we see come from procedures started in the wrong order — a residence application prepared before the empadronamiento is in place, a vehicle registration begun without checking the import history, a tax return filed under the wrong residence assumption.

Once the route is clear, the fee above covers our work on that procedure: preparing the file, checking the documents before they are submitted, and following the case until it is resolved. There are no hidden costs added afterwards, and if a case turns out to need something beyond the service you booked, we tell you before doing it.

We also help foreigners with housing in Barcelona: working out what a landlord or agency will ask a newly arrived foreigner for, and how the rental fits with the empadronamiento and the residence file. That one is quoted case by case rather than from a fixed list, because what it involves changes completely depending on whether you have already arrived, whether you have a Spanish contract and how urgent the move is.

If you need several procedures at once — the usual situation for someone who has just arrived — tell us all of them in the same message. Several of these services share documents and appointments, and doing them in a sensible order is normally faster and cheaper than booking them one by one.

Our fees cover our assistance. Official fees charged by the administration, insurance premiums, taxes and any third-party costs are separate, and we tell you which ones apply to your case when we review it.
